Ok I never did this before...

 Here is what I did in my machine quilt class. This is my first attempt at free motion.

Here is what else I did...

As you can see I need more practice. I purposely used black thread to see my errors and see where I need to improve. But I can see why people match their threads now. But I am shakey still. This is my second attempt at free motion.

I just decided to show it because I should be proud of what I do even if it looks like a kindergarten kid did it.

Looks good to me! I wouldn't know how to use a quilt machine to save my life.

 I had a really nice instructor who pointed out how we should hold our quilts and other stuff. She was actually proud of how well her class did.

 I used a regular sewing machine.

This is the kind of class I want to take. I have taken a few classes but the are always piecing classes. No one in the area offers the quilting part.
