We are having a birthday party for our three daughters. Our twins are turning 1 and our oldest is turning 3 and their birthday's are close together so we're doing one big party. We decided to do a Disney Princess theme. I am wanting to save money and think it would be fun to make some of the decorations myself. Does anyone have any cute ideas on party supplies that I can make myself?
hanging from the air pom pom...

go to a dollar store and buy the packs of paper, buy floral wire
Wrap the art on your walls in princess themed or girly-whirlie giftwrap or wrap in pink paper and make cut outs of crowns and such and place on the pink paper.
have you seen the individual princess cupcakes... gah..so cute - wish I would have thought of this for my daughter's 5th birthday...

I make my own "pin the ___on ___'s" with a poaster board. I usually just draw them on. If you can't draw blow it up in paint and tape it onto the board.
I don't usually buy the character printed plates or cups. just the table cloth (1) and maybe a Happy birthday banner. Other than that I use solid colors that match (Princesses: pink, blue, yellow- mainly)

We've yet to throw a themed party. We've been lucky so far. Abry just wanted "pink" parties.
I agree with this... great way to save money. You can carry the theme without paying for it in paper products. use the dollar store for your pink /purple stuff.
What about setting up a photo area with an obnoxiously large frame (buy from goodwill) paint it paink and maybe add sequins... then have princess gear next to it and have the girls dress up as madam princess for a single pic or something... just typing out loud here.
at my daughter's party we played "cinderalla's shoe" I had the kids split up in two teams, take their shoes off and stick them all in a pile... then had them walk through the house come back and the first team to get all of their shoes back on wins... great way to get kids ready to go near the end of the party.

I know!!! I did the big barbie dressed up as a princess and had these little guys out near the food for my themed food area but never thought about doing it as a cupcake. you can get the entire set of them for about 12$ and the little sets for 4-5 a piece. if you were having a small party, you could use these as the favors.without busting the bank.
with this where she has 3 little girls... each one could have their cupcake to blow out the candles and have a sheet cake for the rest of the guest.

In my opinion streamer and balloons make a party. They are both fairly cheap and really go a long way into dressing up a space. Tissue paper from the dollar store for tissue paper poms poms...

If you could find cheap princess posters you could put those up and then she could also have them after the party. Pennant flags are easy and fun.. this one is from Tangled.. Rapunzel

Depending on your artistic ability. you could make out of poster board, paint, paper... pin the crown on the princess.. wand on the fairy... fire on the dragon.. shield on the knight.. you get the idea...
