My sister has been having a bit of a hard time lately. Without going into too much detail she has been suffering with chronic pain and depression- all while being a 27 year old mother of 4. As a family we have all banded together to try and help wherever we can. I got the crazy idea to make her a quilt after seeing these crazy bright fat quarters and awesome peace sign fabric at good 'ol Wally World and got going. It felt so good to figure this all out by myself, even though it is a fairly simple pattern (a string quilt). When I gave it to her on Mother's Day I told her I wanted her to have a little sunshine to brighten her darker days. Cheesy, I know, but if were to give this quilt a name it would be "Just a little sunshine". Please forgive the pics. I took them all with my cell phone.
I tye-dyed a king size fitted cotton sheet for the back of it. I bought it for $2 and it was just begging to be tye-dyed!
Why am I showing you a pic of my garage fridge? I'm not really sure what size to call this quilt- twin, extra large twin. This was just two "blocks". There were three total for each column and two for each row.
And just to show you how uber-bright the fabrics really are.
Thanks for looking!!
