Can you use a safety pin? Hook it to the end and thread it through?

I use a knitting needle. Turn a little bit by hand, stick the blunt end in and roll it down.

This is what I do too. Turning is such a pain!

When sewing my tubes or straps, I leave only one end open, sew closed the other end with about a 1/2" seam. Then I take a knitting needle, place the closed end over the needle end, and then scrunch it down onto the needle to turn right side out. I had a video showing an easy way (I think she used a pencil), just need to find it...
