how do you organize your crafts? I'm looking for new ideas for my sewing and craft supplies.
I have a craft room and two large shelves and two in tables stacked on each other plus a desk to put all my stuff on. It's not that organized but i know where everything is at.
Right now everything's in organizers on two bookshelves. Soon I hope to move into the spare bedroom for my crafting stuff and I'll hopefully get shelves and stuff put in :)
im in a small 1br so right now all my crafting stuff is pushed to one side of the living room...BUT last night i was up late trying to start organizing...i have 5 storage drawer thingies (2 tall, 2 short, and a cute purple one) i keep everything in except artificial flowers...i have so many and they take up so much room that i don't know right now what to do with them except put them all in a tote (right now they're in a trash bag) i got little bowls for beads and jewelry making items and bigger bowls for stones, etc...you name it...when i get my forever home i'll have a crafting room with LOTS of cabinets and drawers and cubbies!!!
we turned out spare bedroom into an office/craft space. I took off the closet doors and created a storage system in it. Of course that was before I started sewing and now I really need a better storage system for fabric and such
I have a peg board on the wall behind my desk, a cube storage under with notions and a big bucket of fabric. Here is a picture:
This is underneath. The storage boxes are old Ramen noodle boxes covered in scrapbook paper and filled with WIP and snaps and other less space taking up crafts. The bucket is full of fabric and the box is full of notions.
My dh built me a room in the basement. I have lots of those metal nuts and bolts cabinets, I bought a standing closet thing that I have all my material in and I have 1 large table, my sewing table, some of those plastic bins that have rollers on the bottom that have 3-4 drawers in them. I have a couple other wood and metal stands in there and 1 shelf above the antique buffet I have in there. I have another desk with my cricket cutter on it. I also have a peg board on the wall, a couple of wood cabinets my dad was going to throw out. It's all very mismatched but it works.
