What would be a must-have?

I'm talking built-ins, storage, surfaces, etc.

I'm getting started on mine and need some ideas. I do any kind of crafting I can get my hands on!

Seeing your tables made me think of something really cool!  You know how when you go to the store and look at the craft books, they are pretty much everywhere?  I would love to have all my patterns printed out, in binders according to type of craft (knitting, crochet, cross stitch, etc), then catagorized (Animals, kitchen, storage, dresses, etc), and last but not least alphabetized.  Having those in the drawers like at the store, and having just one or a few big books with just the pics and their corresponding drawer and location underneath!  Sounds like a lot but I would soooo do it!  Lol.  Not a craft nut at all!  hehehehehe

This is my craft room shortly after we put the tables in.

I LOVE it except there is a lot of wasted space at the back of the tables. I wish they were only about half as deep. They are 4 feet deep and one is 12 feet long the other is 8 feet.

Now there are 3 machines on the tables and 2 machines in their own tables in there. Along with a bog desk.

I think I might have Adam downsize the tables a bit for more room.

There is storage bins under one table filled with all our fabric, our bowling stuff under the other and patterns in the desk drawers. The closet has Paisley s clothes so I'm looking for storage solutions.

I would love to see a picture of that!

I've also seen artist boxes that fold out just like the one the touch-up artist uses in Toy Story 2 - no lie...EXACTLY like it! Thing is like $800 but I drool every time I see it!

Right now, my craft room is in my bedroom, on my bed.  Not the best.  Lol.  But it works.  If I had to have one thing, it would be this huge crafting closet that I saw in a magazine once.  No joke it was $1,500!  But with all the storage space, and I think a small desk inside too, it would be sooooo worth it!  If I can ever find the pic, I'll have to post it.  Any crafter that seen this thing would be drooling!

Oh and good lighting, and no carpet.

It was originally a dining room, so it's got a chandelier in there right now. I'm looking for a hanging lamp I can aim. The no carpet thing was 1st on the list! Hubs does floors for a living, and we're putting in inexpensive laminate wood so messes will clean up easily and it won't matter if the floor gets stained, scratched or whatever.

That's awesome! I was going to go with cheapy laminate too, for my new studio. It doesn't have to be fancy, I just do not want carpet. SUCH a pain, especially if you sew and thread and fur bits get stuck in the carpet.

Ott lights are awesome and once every three months they are half off at Joanns - still expensive but the closest to natural light I know of! I have an LED light from Walmart we got for like $10 that I love, I just wish it shed more light!

We got all the materials for the floor for around $200. I can't wait!
