Tooting my own horn!

Posted by   + Show Post

I am shamelessly tooting my own horn because I can!  My mom taught me (sort of) how to crochet when I was a teenager.  I stopped working on it a looooong time ago.  When I became pregnant with DD in 2009 I decided I wanted to make her a blanket.  I was my first time really going farther than just a single crochet chain.  It wasn't great, but here it is.

DD's blanket.  Yes it gets wider at the bottom.  Either way, DD loves it still!

I enjoyed it so much I decided to try my hand at selling blankets.  Here all of the blankets I've made since:

Above is the first blanket I sold.

This one was a gift:

My second sold blanket:

This was for my niece:

My third sold blanket and my first hat:

My most recent blanket.  It's a gift.

Well there is my shameless "I'm proud of myself post".  LOL.

I tried to learn several times, My mom made a lot of afghans and I'm so thank full to have a few of them now that she is gone... :o(..

I took up quilting because I want to leave something of myself to my daughter and crocheting hurts my hands...

Your blankets look great!!!

Those blankets are awesome! You should teach us all how to make one. My daughter is a blankie baby and she has one that is so full of holes it is a hazard so we have put that one away. Now she is dragging around a giant one she got for Christmas. I would love to learn crochet. I can make a mean chain but I have never figured out how to do much else. ha ha!
