My mom gave me my grandma's old sewing machine. Its a dressmaker. She didn't give me a manual. Can anyone help me get it going?

I just got one myself; but it's pretty new and came with a manual haha...still not looking forward to it. Good luck!

I have two vintage sewing machines and was able to track down the manuals online for download. While you could use it without the manual, it shows the proper oiling points and maintainence. If it has been sitting for some time, you definitely want to oil it before using it. The model number should be located somewhere on the bottom of the machine. If you can post it, I'll try to locate a manual for you.

It probably just needs to be oiled. Because the old machines are all metal, they get stuck when they aren't used and oiled for extended periods of time.

This looks like it may be your machine.
