When I don't have a specific thing to be working on, I make a baby blanket or baby hats. Someone's always having a baby it seems and it helps to have some already made.

 I'm making some stuffed animals for valentines day gifts for my babies. They're pretty easy and a nice change from blankets and hats

What kind of shows/movies do you like? Sometimes you can find patterns for crochet items to support your fandom. Right now I'm crocheting a Finn hat from Adventure Time and a Doctor Who 4th Doctor scarf.

 I'm working on blankets for my kids right now (I'm out of yarn at the moment); anyway, if I ever run out of things we need for me to make, this is what I would do: make baby blankets and/or hats, etc and donate them to local hospitals or keep them for gifts if there's a lot of women of childbearing age in your family.
