Can Brother 1034d serger do a lettuce edge hem?

Can a lettuce edge be done on any fabric or just knits?

yes, I believe it can...if you stretch the knit as you are serging...and because you have to stretch, just on knits...that's the machine I have, but I haven't done anything "cool" on it yet...lol

Awesome. Thanks. I'm looking to get it. I really want a serger.

I'll double check the manual in a little while and post back.  I did research for 2 years to find mine....compared prices and features and weighed the pros and cons of having one....have had it for a couple of years now - it was my "big" Christmas present one year and I LOVE it - especially for finishing edges when working with knits.  I've also made lots of cloth napkins from scrap fabrics that I had, and I just ran them through the serger to finish the edges, used FrayCheck on the ends, and trimmed the threads after the FC had dried....
