I remember wearing the shamrocks that our grandmother sent over from IRELAND on St Patrick's Day to grammar school. Just envision this: being cut up and the attached to your plaid Catholic school dress uniform with a safety pin. And you proudly wore it all day long because you were IRISH and did not think wearing a plant on clothing was a different kind of statement then what your classmates wore.
