Welcome to Day 2 of the Colors of the Rainbow Craft Challenge! Each day we'll inspire you with a new color theme!

Your theme for today is: Red.

Remember, you don't have to create something entirely new each day -- though of course we'd love to see what you can whip up! You can do any of the following:

  • Post a photo of something you've made in the past that fits the theme.
  • Post a photo of something you make today based on the theme.
  • Post a story about a craft you've made in the past based on the theme.
  • Post an idea for a craft project, based on the theme, that you'd like to work on in the future.
  • Post a picture of a craft project you've seen online, that you'd like to try based on the theme.
  • Post a tutorial or instructions for a craft based on the theme.

Post any of the above in the replies below! Reply with one item at a time :)

Have fun!

happy

These are fun to make and use! These are wax tarts or wax melts. You melt them in a tart burner or candle melter.

I used GB 464 soy wax, red color dye, and warm vanilla sugar fragrance for these. I used a strawberry silicone mold and a plastic lemon slice mold to make these tarts.

Silicone is much easier to use and it last alot longer than plastic molds. Sorry about the url on the picture. I don't have a picture without it, and it is in place so people aren't using our photos...

This came out a little light in the picture, but it is a red rose bouquet wax tart.

I used GB 464 soy wax, red color dye and warm vanilla sugar fragrance. I used a silicone mold to make this tart. It can be used in drawers and cabinets to freshen up the smell, or it can be broken up and used in a tart burner.

I did try to use this as the top part of a container candle.. but all the little valleys and ridges around the flowers and leaves made it difficult for the wax and melt down evening, and the poor wick didn't know if it should burn sideways or down.. ha! What a mess that turned out to be. So, a tart it shall be!
