Oi vey, what have I gotten myself into???????

I'm making DS Easter basket this year. Here is a picture of what it's supposed to look like:

So everything was going well....until I popped the balloon.

I thought it was totally dry but something went horribly wrong!

When I popped the balloon, it sucks the basket in and it's not hard, at all.

I have it hanging back outside and I resprayed the crap out of it with Modge Podge acrylic sealer.

Tomorrow we have to do Easter because DS is leaving Sunday to go to his dads for the next week.

The basket will NOT stand up on its own, it'll just crumble down.

Any ideas to make it stronger or do I just have to deal?

I used Modge Podge (as instructed by the blog from this photo). It's a bit late for that though.

No, it has to dry over 24 hours and we're doing Easter tomorrow. I have it hang drying outside and I sprayed the crap out of it on the inside and outside with the Acrylic Sealer so I'm HOPING it'll harden it open enough to stand on its own, otherwise, it looks like another store bought thing....not cool.
