Costume help

My boys want to be Phineas and Ferb for Halloween, well it is their second choice. First choice was to be Mario Bros again, and I really want them to try something new. Since Phineas and Ferb aren't costumes, I need to make them. Should be easy, but I can't find a white and orange stripe shirt in a size 6. I was thinking of dying orange stripes, any suggestions?

I once made a striped shirt for a costume by using a white shirt and colored duct tape.

Use tape and fabric paint with a sponge brush.

Thank you.. The cartoon is so cute, I can't believe they still don't have costumes for these characters.
