It took longer than I had thought, but they turned out great.

Cute! How did you do that?

I chopped up crayons into very small pieces and microwaved them in the ornaments. Key is to swirl it around immediately otherwise you have to start melting again. We have 10 we are doing tomorrow and I will share more pics.

Thank you, chopped the crayons up small and microwave them inside the ornaments. The smaller the better.

Are they glass ornaments or plastic? I want to do this, but not sure my kids/pets are ready for breakable ornaments.

I bought small glass ornaments, and the wax in the crayons make them more sturdy.

Also they do get really hot, I wouldn't let the kids touch them until they cooled. My youngest is 4 years old.

Ok. Juat dice up the crayon, put it i. The ornament and microwave it for how long? The you said to slowly spin it to swirl the colors/coat the glass? Also, how many crayons per ornament seems to work best? Ive found hundreds of different recipes, each with different recomendations.
