DH's rag quilt I made him for Christmas 2013

I surprised my hubby with this quilt for Christmas last year. I love the weight of it. I used heavier materials and double the batting. It is slightly larger than a queen size and Weights 9 lbs.

Even though we live in Central Texas, it is on our bed year round. It is nice with the air conditioning.

Recently I attended a quilt Expo and saw another rag quilt with almost the same design! That one only had plaid in it though. I was still floored that it used many of the same materials I did, was similar in size and was a rag quilt and not a traditional one. Made me smile.

Thank you. Probably about 45-50 hours or so. Maybe a little longer than usualy because I did this mostly in another state while visiting so I was using someone else's machine, (actually 3 others machines) and kept running into technical problems that slowed me down.
