i WISH someone had told me YEARS ago that jerseys with iron-on names and numbers should not be dried. (they start peeling off)

just wash and hang.

that little helpful hint saved my son's football jersey that ended up lasting us all 4 years of pee-wee. now i'll get to wear it to his Junior High games!! :D WOOT-WOOT!

what advice do you have that might help?

please share!!

It's only a game. Make sure kids realize that.

If possible, buy equipment at the end of the season when sports stores are clearancing out the old gear.

Yes, and double check the gear you have before leaving too!

Get a bag for them to keep everything in it.  I'm still trying to get one parent to buy or get her a bag to put her softball stuff in.  She either leaves her visor or her glove almost every practice.

When doing laundry, make sure there are 2 SOCKS!!!

I washed DD1's uniform (well, she is the one that got the clothes in a pile but i didn't double check) and when she had to get her uniform, we realized we only washed one sock.  She played with one stinky sock yesterday.  oh well.

Don't goodwill any of your out grown equipment....you never know if you'll need it again.
