From The Stir...

Brady Quinn Doesn't Owe Tim Tebow an Apology

We all say things we regret later, and obviously Brady Quinn is having second thoughts regarding the less-than-flattering comments he made about Tim Tebow during an interview for GQ. Well, sure -- remarks that seem casual and non-threatening in the context of a conversation carry a lot more weight when they're printed in black and white ("The Year of Magical Stinking: An Oral History of Tebow Time" just hit newsstands on Tuesday). But did Quinn really need to apologize for his words? I don't think so.

Granted, I can see how things could get a little awkward if Quinn didn't try to take back what he said, considering he and Tebow are teammates on the Denver Broncos.

But it's not like Quinn slammed Tebow for the sake of slamming him. He didn't even slam him, really. Quinn basically just said what everybody else was thinking out loud.

Which was this: When asked about Tebowmania's role in his team's winning streak, he said, "We've had a lot of, I guess, luck, to put it simply." (In other words, no, Tebow isn't the Broncos Messiah.)

And of Tebow taking the spotlight: "I felt like the fans had a lot to do with that. Just cause they were chanting his name. There was a big calling for him. No, I don't have any billboards. That would have been nice."

Of course it would have been nice! You can't blame the guy. As for his comments about the way Tebow flaunted his religion (for the record, Quinn is also a Christian), well ... Quinn had a good point, quite frankly, when he said it didn't "seem very humble" to him.

Again, given the whole teammates situation, I guess Quinn felt like he had no choice but to apologize. But he really shouldn't have had to.

Do you think Brady Quinn owes Tim Tebow an apology?

If you can't say anything nice, you shouldn't say anything at all. Isn't that what we are taught? It's certainly what I teach my children. That way you never have regrets later.

If he is sorry, then he should apologize. If he meant what he said, then he should apologize for the way his words may have made Tim Tebow feel, but not for what he said.

I don't think he owes an apology, but since they're teammates, it's probably a good idea to show some teamanship...if that's a word...LOL

Yes he does, if you ask me it is bad sportsmanship.

I look at it different than you, I call it badsportsmanship so I do thinks he should atleast say he's sorry.

I meant since they are teammates that it would be a good idea to apologize, for the sake of teamwork. I guess I wasn't clear enough. Sorry.

it probably would be nice since they're on the same team but really everyone is entitled to their own opinion
