Do you give up anything?  If so, what are you giving up?

I'm not religious at all and usually do not participate but my sisters want to participate this year whether we are religious or not.

because I haven't thought about it, I'm trying to figure out what to give up or do for the next 40 days so right now....i haven't thought about anything yet.

I thought about giving up coffee. I don't have it everyday, and I don't NEED it - but that seems too easy.

Then I thought about giving up alcohol for the 40 days, but my birthday falls in the middle and I know the girls will want  to go out. LOL How awful is that?

I'm not a sweets person, so again, no big deal to cut that out.

I'm trying to thik of something I could DO for that time - maybe put $1 a day in a jar and donate it to charity? I dont get a lot of spending money so that would be a sacrifice.

My sister is giving up alcohol except for her boyfriend's birthday and St. Patrick's Day.  hahahaha.  It's so not the point but she said since she isn't religious and this is more of an opportunity to try it, she wants to do it that way.

No. I haven't for a very long time. Both my husband and I were born and raised Catholic, but neither of us was into church. We didn't Baptize our children in the Catholic church either. It tears my grandma up to see us eating meat on Wednesday and Friday, but it's our lives.
