DD is off to over night lacrosse camp on Monday. This will be her 4th year going. She loves it. But it has never been this hot this time of year when she was there. I am worried about the heat. I got her lots of water and Gatorade to bring. We have a plug in cooler so she can keep them cool right in her room. They are also on turf from sun up to sun down with breaks to eat and one trip a day to swim in the ocean. It's goalie camp so all the girls will be covered in pads and will all be hot. Any other ideas to help keep her cool and hydrated? She is a very smart kid but she will push herself. I worry about her over heating.
Turned out to be a pretty cool week. We had a lot of thunderstorms which helped keep most of the days cool. They lucked out this year and got the better dorms with AC for night. They even had their own private shower. We did find something called a frog pad. You just wet it and it stays cool. It has worked great so far. She had a wonderful time at camp and slept for a few days when she got home.
