Hi! I'm Holly. I've been writting, in one form or another, for about twenty years. I've worked for advertising and public relations agencies, wrote freelance pieces for business and social publications, and I write a blog called "Hanyaks and Angels." Visit if you get a chance: http://hollyhlazzeri.com/
As a mother of three kids ranging in age from fourteen to five, I am in awe of those moms with the self disipline to ignore the laundry (and there's always laundry and dishes. No matter what you do, those kids keep wearing clothes and eating food.) and write. I would love to hear some secrets on how to do it. Writing for me can only come in moments of quiet and peace. We all know how often that happens.
My son does the dishes, and he does his own laundry. Husband does the laundry on the weekend, and we tidy up on the weekend together. I work from home Monday-Friday from the time husbs leaves from work until he gets home. Granted, I only have one kiddo, but he knows when the headphones are on, Mom's working. I take a break every 25 minutes for 5 minutes to get up, stretch, and talk to him...
Sounds like a great schedule Ronda2012! I've struggled more since having my third child, but tend to work more in the afternoons when my kids have "quiet time" and at night after they are in bed. Other times when I have a lot to get done my husband will watch them for an evening. As for staying on top of cleaning, I do laundry 3 set days a week and do other cleaning certain times of the day. It can definitely be a tricky balance, but I'm so glad I can be a WAHM!
