What sort of things do you do with the kids for PE. Do you get exercise for yourself?
I just started doing the Jillian Michael's 30 day shred but fell out of it when I get sick with my allergies. I'm going to start it back Monday allergies or not cause I love nearly 2 pounds the first week and I'd like to keep that trend up for about 20 some odd pounds :).
The kids and I all do karate at least 2x a week. The kids are in a 2 day a week class. I go on a different day but usually work out on the mat on my own on their class days. I love it. Haven't lost a ton of weight but I feel much better and ITS FUN!
We also go to the Y and try to swim at least once a week.
Then there is all the Scout stuff we do... camping/ hiking at least one weekend a month as well as going to park days with e homeschool gruop, bike riding and the like.
We haven't started it yet, but I have this and intend to use it ![]()

That looks great! I think I may get it to use in addition to the kids swimming lessons and gymnastics!
dd just plays outside(rides her bike & all that) for now. she is only 4. she does play our wii fit sometimes too.
The kids do other stuff too-like take walks, play outdoor games(liek horseshoes, red light/green light, hoola hoops, etc), active Wii games, go hiking, swimming in the summer, that sort of thing.
But something I learned when I looked at the PE program, which is important (esp for younger kids) is encouraging them to move in new ways. PE is more than just moving. While hiking or running is good, they also need to learn to move their body in new ways. So we'll probably be starting the PE program in a couple of weeks.

I hadn't really thought of PE beyond playing outside, and being really really active kids. But I checked out the PE program you linked to and I will deffinantly add more structured workouts.
My 7 yr old boys currently take dance once a week, but thats almost over. My Ped. recommended swimming lessons because it's such great physical activity, as well as water safety. So i'm planninng on signing them up soon for that.
I try and work out Mon-Fri on my treadmill followed by some strength training. My kids do a lot; running, dancing, general playing, swimming, walks, bike riding, exploring, we have a two story, so stair climbing....we're active.
I hope you're over your allergies soon! Way to go on the weight loss.![]()
