Every family is different, and so are our needs, that doesn't change when it comes to the family vehicle. Here's a link to the 2011 top ten family vehicles according to CNBC.com; http://www.cnbc.com/id/41766395/The_Top_10_Family_Cars_of_2011?slide=1

What does your family drive and how do you like (or not like) it? Are you saving up for a better ride? Why would you recommend, or not recommend, it to other moms?

I have a 1997 toyota Avalon. Love it. Lots of room, great power, handles like a sports car. Has over 240000 miles and going strong.

We bought a Ford F350 super duty, double cab turbodiesel gas guzzler a year ago. All the bells and whistles. Tow package, camper shell. I LOVE "THE BEAST" it sux with diesel prices rigth now so I only drive her when 100% necessary...like extra kids or for scout outings to transport kids n gear.

We currently have a chevy classic (basically a malibu) and a chevy trail blazer. The trail blazer is our family vehicle and the classic is what my Hub uses for weekly work commute. We recently got them both payed off, what a blessing!!!!! My DH wants to get a more spacious and accommodating SUV so, we're activly shopping around for when we're ready to make such a purchase.

Hubby has a 1970 Ford truck that he loves-it sucks on gas but he loves it.

I have a Crystler Town & Country that I love.

I have 5 different cars....a 98 ford escort (broken at the moment) love it, but we don't all fit, an 87 honda accord, good on gas, but small and old, a 70-somthing ford F-150, don't all fit...work/muscle truck, ...these 3 are dh 's cars, and he also has a 2001 turbo cummins diesel, love it, and I haul the kids around in 2005 chrysler sebring, love it, but I want a truck, just because they are so useful.

I would LOVE to have a suburban! The price is deterring though and I can't imagine they do well on gas....perhaps I have a misconception since I've never owned one, so please feel free to change my perspective, cuz I really like the idea of owning one, lol!

I looked into the town and country as well as some other vans, but my hub (and myself) are pretty sold on an SUV. That might change when we're closer to making our purchase and actually start test driving vehicles. He thinks vans would be to cramped. Neither of us have every owned one, nor had one used in our families.
