We've been sick!

I don't think I was on here at all last week! We've all been sick here! And, of course I have allergies on top of being sick, so just loads of fun!

I haven't done much of anything for the past week or so.

What are some of your favorite home remedies for sickness?

Echinacea, vitamin c, vitamin d, and if you have a sore throat - black elderberry. I couple that with airborne and it goes away speedy quick! Normally it will fight it off before it ever gets ahold of me.
Oh and chiropractic!

We are a fan of hot tea and local honey for anything nasal/throat related here.

Hubby love his neti pot, I can't handle a neti pot though LOL *Shudder*

We have a netti pot but I can only make one side work at a time. But if it happens to go down your throat BLECH! I cannot stand it. I rarely ever use it unless in desperate. Haha
I wish dh would use it more for his allergies, I think it would help

lemon, horehound, honey for cough, colds, sore throat

cayenne when starting to feel sick

ginger coughs, colds

echineaca, yarrow, for  colds

various mints for nasesa, sick stomach,

Ooooh, so sorry you guys have been sick. I wondered why you were not "around." : )

Lots of great advice already. I will just add the importance of a cool mist humidifyer this time of year. The air is so dry and can make colds linger longer than normal. Feel better soon!

swim-mom-oh it's not dry here in GA! Humidity in GA in summer is usually very, very high.

Horehound! I forgot I had some horehound! And I'm almost out of local honey (local honey works best for allergies) Maybe next week I can make a tript o get some (yes, small town I have to make a trip to buy local honey! LOL Walmart is about our only option here and they don't carry local honey....)

Hope you are now on the mend!!  We suffer from allergies here really bad.  But luckily this year because of all of the rain we have been getting, it hasn't been so bad.  The rains are keeping the pollen washed away!!

We a house full of allergy sufferers here too. Sickness on top of allergies is no fun for sure!

Kids are fine, I'm much better but hubby...he's still got a little ways to go I think, poor guy comes home every day from work now and goes straight to bed for a nap before dinner!
