We are heading to the beach soon and are purposely going to stop overnight near national parks. http://www.nps.gov/. We try to do the junior ranger program and obtain badges, certificates, and our stamps.

Just wondering if anyone else does this. I am super excited to get so much 'schooling' in while on vacation. PLUS there is a special for the next 3 years that if you visit 3 civil war sites you get a special badge!

I remember that as a kid, and I didnt know there were that many places that still did that. Although I went to public school, my dad loved traveling and history, so he took us to many museums and other historical places. The junior ranger programs made it alot more fun and enjoyable as a kid.

I plan to do stuff like this with my own kids, but my oldest is still a bit young.
