Goals

This is going to be our first year of homeschooling, I was wanting to make some goals for my DS to work towards, but am not sure how to go about it, and how to evaluate them.  I need to have something to prove to his dad he is learning in-case my ex decides to be a jerk about things.  Right now he is on board with HS, but that can change at the drop of a hat.

I am looking at things like, working independently, (he's in 5th and still has to ask me every time he is working on something what to do), increasing reading fluency, etc.  I don't want a lot of them but a few and want to be able to show he is working toward them, just not sure how.  Any suggestions would be great.

well you need to know what he does know first

then figure out what a 5th grader in the ps needs to know or can do by that grade

theres a book you can usually find at the library called'what a 5th grader needs to know' or something like that and it can tell you what a 5th grader should know in the ps. it might help

heres a scope and sequence that might help make some goals http://www.worldbook.com/typical-course-of-study.html
