Book Suggestions for Character Study

I have started to implement character study into my pre-school curriculum. This week we talked about being obedient. I'm taking a trip to the library today and I wanted to get some books that talk about being respectful and honest. Any suggestions that would be good for a 3 1/2 year old???

Check out www.kidsofintegrity.ca awesome site with lessons, recommendations on implementing, etc.

We are using a child's book of character building, book 1 as well as a book of virtues (I think that is what it is called)

I like Clifford books, they usually have a good character lesson in them. I can't think of any others off hand.

There's a book called I'll Always Love You about a little bear who breaks his mother's favorite honey pot. Before he tells her, he asks her if she'll love him no matter what and lists several scenarios where he was bad.

My kids love the Berenstain Bears and I think they have a book about just about every dilemma you can think of, lol. Honesty : http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&keywords=Honesty&rh=n%3A283155%2Ck%3AHonesty%2Cp_lbr_two_browse-bin%3ABerenstain%20Bears&page=1

They might be a little long for a 3 1/2 yr old attention span, but they are good books. :)

We like all of the above, plus Christopher Churchmouse. Very cute!

How the Chipmunk Got It's Stripes was a favorite of my children when they were that young.  Another good one that comes to mind is The Little Engine That Could.  It's been so long since I've been in the picture book age I'm sure others here will be more helpful.  Good luck!
