Do you take advantage of school season vacations?

Posted by   + Show Post
We are thinking next year (or maybe later this year) of taking a vacation because it's so much cheaper and less crowded while most kids are in school.

Do you take vacations in the summer, or during "school season"?

Love it. We almost never travel in the summer.

We only vacation during the school year.  We don't like crowds and we don't like to go places during the Summer, it is usually way too hot for us. LOL!

"Oppression of spirit is not on
the public school curriculum. Rather, it's a noxious by-product produced
while stewing schooling in a pot w/ unions, administrators,
multi-billion dollar budgets, state education departments, and school
boards, then letting politicians control the heat." Linda Dobson

"When you want to teach
children to think, you begin by treating them seriously when they are
little, giving them responsibilities, talking to them candidly,
providing privacy and solitude for them, and making them readers and
thinkers of significant thoughts from the beginning. That's *if* you
want to teach them to think." ~ Bertrand Russell

It depends on the reasons behind the vacation for us.  We have family/friends that live all over the united states so whenever we're visiting somebody with children they're most often public schooled so we go during the summer.  Whenever we're visiting somebody w/o children or if we're making a trip to go someplace i.e., Disney, Legoland and such we go off-season during the school year for the cheaper rates and less crowds.

We would, but one of our kids is in college. She would not be able to go.
