I just switched my daughter to homeschool. She is 16 and she has Aspergers syndrome but she is very high functioning as far as academics. They still have her as a 9th grader because she has a lot of health problems and misses school for specialist appointments due to counseling, phyc meds, nerologist for seizures etc. This is the 2nd year in a row they said she could not get credit for the classes she has been taking because she missed too many days. Even though she is really good about make up work and make up tests etc. and she gets A's and B's. They won't give her credit even though she has doctors excuses for all days missed. So she is 16 and still has only 2 credits for highschool.
I figure I will homeschool her till she turns 17 and then I can put her in the free open attendance GED classes here in town. Then she can take her GED once she turns 18.
The problem I have is that I don't have money to buy a curriculum or text books. I have checked our rediculously small public library here in town and they don't really have much.
I know its a lot to ask but does anyone have textbooks they aren't using anymore for 9th and 10th grade?we need algebra 1 and intro to geometry for math. we need 9th grade english. United States History and/or World History. Biology and/or physical sience. Health. Social Studies. Any art history books would also be helpful, she loves art and is trying to learn everything about it. Also a beginning Spanish course would be great.
I would need teacher additon or answer key for the math ( I am horrible at math so I would be learning to) and teacher addition or answer key for Spanish also.
I am a recently divorced mom with 3 kids still at home (the oldest has moved away) and we are barely making ends meet. We are supposed to be moving into low income housing as soon as they have an apartment available for us.
I really have no money for text books and even if you could help me with 1 of the books mentioned above it would really help us.
