In my state (Louisiana) there are two ways to go for homeschooling. The first is the easiest. You write a letter of intent and you are considered a private school. From what I'm understanding because your considered a private school the diploma you give your child is considered the same as a public school diploma. You will not need a GED. The second option requires you to provide examples of work, list of books, ect every year. It also requires you to take the state tests. You do not get a diploma and will need to go for a GED, but if your ACT score is high enough you may qualify for TOPS, which is funding to go to college.
What are your opinions on this? Would it be better to go for a diploma or funding for college?
I would go for option number one. They're are plenty of homeschool scholarships.
