Sweet Chili. It's very delicious.
1lb sausage (you can buy sage flavor or flavor it with sage yourself)
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp. prepared mustard (I bought those little containers of ground mustard)
2 (14oz) cans of kidney beans
2 cups of tomato juice
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. chili powder
(This time I added about a tsp. of cinammon)
Cook the sausage and drain it (you can cook the onion with the meat, depends on how you like it. DH only eats cooked onions that are super soft. If they are crunchy he's not interested). Return to pan and add the brown sugar and mustard. Cook for about 2 mins or until brown sugar has completely dissolved and mixed into the meat. Add all ingredients together in a crockpot and cook on high for two hours. (I cooked it on the stove once too, started the beans etc. as I was cooking the sausage). Serve with cornbread or crackers.
This is a very delicious recipe, all of my kids love it... even my picky little 5yr old. I have to double the recipe to feed our family of seven. I could almost triple it if I want leftovers. I need some good ideas of crockpot meals for the cold weather. Whose got some?

Tonight is our annual Healthy Families Thanksgiving dinner, so it will be turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, etc.
White chicken chili, guacamole, vegan corn bread, and roasted broccoli -- and maybe a salad.
