Feeling Rejuvenated!

Feeling rejuvenated in our school efforts. We had such a great "class" today! We learned about story structure, capitalization and dialogue. Of course the basics..reading, writing(spelling/sight words and journal writing), arithmetic. The water cycle and what causes the weather. We also read about the nomads from 10,000 BC and how they became settled down. I loved that they couldn't get enough of it all. They ask the best questions! ♥

Oh and we did all of this in 3 hours! Talk about cutting down the school day! Now they have time to let their imaginations run wild.

"Oppression of spirit is not on
the public school curriculum. Rather, it's a noxious by-product produced
while stewing schooling in a pot w/ unions, administrators,
multi-billion dollar budgets, state education departments, and school
boards, then letting politicians control the heat." Linda Dobson

"When you want to teach
children to think, you begin by treating them seriously when they are
little, giving them responsibilities, talking to them candidly,
providing privacy and solitude for them, and making them readers and
thinkers of significant thoughts from the beginning. That's *if* you
want to teach them to think." ~ Bertrand Russell

That's great! We finished a lot of school today too! Jordan was sick last night so he stayed in bed today, he finished more schoolwork today than he normally does in 3 days at his desk!
