HOUSTON - An Amber Alert has been issued for a 2-year-old boy who went missing in Liberty County Tuesday afternoon.
Devin Davis was last seen around 3:30 p.m. at a house in Cleveland, according to the Amber Alert.
Devin’s parents are a young couple who just moved here with their two children about a week ago. They were with a family friend at a house in the Sam Houston Lake Estates.
His mom told investigators she took a nap with her two children but when she woke up, little Devin was nowhere to be found. When the Amber Alert was sent out, investigators said he may have wandered off alone.
The home is not far from a lake and volunteer firefighters towed boats to the area in case the lake needed to be searched.
Devin is described as:
-- Red, auburn hair
-- Blue eyes
-- Around 2'6"
-- Around 40 pounds
-- Last seen wearing a red and gray jersey t-shirt, jeans and Spiderman tennis shoes
Neighbors were on 4-wheelers and people were looking in the woods with flashlights, trying to help out with the search. Officials flew a helicopter over the scene with an infrared camera on it. It did not detect a heat signature consistent with the size of little Devin.
Texas EquuSearch has been called and they plan to keep looking all night if they have to. If you have any information, you are urged to call the Liberty County Sheriff's Office at 936-336-4500.
