Have you tried spelling city? It is a website that you can make spelling lists on & it uses them in fun educational games for the kids to play!

I paid for spelling city, now I think its too juvenile for DD. The games are very babyish.

Its not free, but the book was about $10, we like Spelling Power.

I second Spelling City, (it is free for the basic level) and if google spelling, help with spelling, etc you will get a TON of links for help with spelling. We have been doing All about Spelling (which you can get cheap on used curriculm yahoo group) after that we use Spelling City and the spelling with Evan Moore work books off Amazon. We like them and they are improving my boys spelling:)

Look into Sequential Spelling. I bought it for $10 on Amazon. It has helped my son AMAZINGLY! He's in third grade, he reads at a 7th grade level, is doing 6th grade math, but is writing and spelling WAY behind his age group. This has totally helped him. Definitely check it out!

crossword puzzles for her age group would be good. and the more she reads, the better she's get. word searches.
