Text book or living book? Textbooks. I tried the CM method and it drove DD crazy. OTOH if I had been hmeschooled CM would have been perfect for me

Crayons or Markers? Neither, colored pencils

Workbook or not? Yes to workbooks

nature study or science experiment? Both

essay or dictate? Dictation in the early grade. Essays from 7th grade up.

schedule or seat o' the pants? A little bit of both. I set quarterly goals (to commpelte 1/4 of the work I have planned for the yr) but re-evaluate as needed.

cooking class or Lego Club? Both, but not at the same time. We now stick to lego robotics through girl scouts.

Card games or computer games? Both, and board games too

Alarm clock or whenever your eyes open? Depends on what the schedule is for the day. If we don't have to leave the house it is pretty much when our eyes open.

Workbook or not? depending on her mood.  I usually don't do workbooks at home, but I keep them in the car for waiting rooms of the doctor's office.

schedule or seat o' the pants? yes.  We schedule some things and other things are just what ever come up in the day.  I would say a lot of education happens in the conversation that happen to come up when we are driving in the car.  These are totally random and super educational.

cooking class or Lego Club? again, yes.

Card games or computer games? Card games, board games, yes yes yes.  We don't use screens for teaching.

Alarm clock or whenever your eyes open?  Whenever our eyes open except on Fridays when we have art class.

Alarm clock or whenever your eyes open? Do not use an alarm clock but I am an early riser (4-5 am). My son is up by 8 but my daughter would sleep till noon, if I let her.
