Before purchasing any thing or taking any action,  know the legal requirements.  Oredeb gives you some very good links.   Canadian Home School Legal Defense Association is also a good link to have.

I am a home school workshop leader, so I get asked a lot of questions like yours.  For that reason I have put together a free web page with answers to the most common questions at the following link

How To Home School ( understanding your child's learning styles, testing resources, grade level requirements, various methods used by home educators with resource links, and more.

I agree with what has already been said, finding out the laws where you live should be your first task. Then, based on the needs of your daughter you can tailor curriculum to fit her. That could be in many forms like learning from life skills ( cooking, gardening, auto care, etc...), doing unit studies, going the traditional textbook route, learning through lots of literature, or a combination of things.

Check out Time 4 Learning, Heart of Dakota, Timberdoodle, Queens Homeschooling, and Oak Meadow. Currclick is a downloadable site that has a LOT of free stuff that may interest you. And Donna Young's site is a nice place to get started with some free printables. And then there is always your local library.

Good luck on your journey!

Welcome!! My name is Shannon and i have been homeschooling for nearly a decade. My oldest son is spenial needs. We have always homeschooled. Patience & creativity are keys to successful HS. Once you have the law understood (as the pp's have posted) then you can start thinking about what type of HS'er you want to be.
