Ok so I know in Wisconsin we have to send in the PI-1206 form electronically on or before October 15th, but I'm a little confused about something. First, it says to wait until your child is 6 on or before September 1st. My son will be 6 on September 14th of next year sooooo... does that mean I wait till the following year? Second, we were looking into sending him to a public school nearby for 4k and I applied for open enrollment. Obviously we've changed our minds, but they sent us an approval with registration dates and assigned him a teacher. Does that mean I have to send a letter to them or because I didn't actually register do I just have him not go? I'm so confused! LOL I know I'm just making this harder than it has to be, but I'm super nervous I'm going to screw this up. Any info greatly appreciated.

Not sure about the 4k enrollment, but as far as reporting homeschooling to the sate, seems like you would not have to do that this fall.

Im not in WI, but heres my advice anyway. All you have to do is send a postcard to the school principle stating thanks but no thanks. You don't need to give any reasons, just that you've "decided to take you sons education in a different direction"

I believe it's the same as a child that isn't allowed to start grade k because their birthday is 14 days after the cutoff. You can still start educating him, you don't have to wait a whole year.

Thanks. I guess I was just afraid they would start questioning us. I'll send something to the principal.

Thank you. That does seem to be worded better than the site I was looking at.
