On our very first day, many years ago, we did the classwork outside (not to hot, good breeze) and it was amazing how fun and relaxed the learning! Just having "no classroom" was a blast for my daughter! The calm and peace were priceless!
Good luck to you and yours! And remember to have fun! :)
Well, first things first. LOL Have a NOT back to school party. Talk about what you both expect out of the year and then make Elephant Toothpaste or any other super fun Science experiment.
I havent decided this year what fun thing we are going to do but I know we are taking back to school pictures. I am still trying to decide on what kind of game and fun we are going to have.
Quoting kirbymom:Hi Julianas_mommy. Welcome. :)
Do you have any ideas that you would like to try?
we are going to take pictures i know that much. i want to do cupcakes & some other fun stuff. sometime in the 1st month i want to go to a library in town that i didn't even know existed (super small) and have our 1st real field trip.
I thought this would break him of the idea of traditional school. We will likely go to the library the week before and then weekly.
Well, then you should probably start with something simple and fun. That way you can kind of get your feet wet and get an idea of how you would like your schooling to be, and also get an idea of your child's(ren's) learning style as well. You could start off with a sing along video or some stories, maybe even some activity coloring worksheets of some letters or something. Something to get your feet wet and not be too stressful for your first day. You can do this! You are just as capable as any person in a school building. Even more so since you have more of a vested interest in your child(ren)'s education. : ) If you would like more ideas, just feel free to come in here and ask away. We would love to help. :) This is a great place to get ideas and support.
