hi ladies, i'm brand new to homeschooling. i'm just wondering in TEXAS do we have to inform anyone (school district, etc) that we're homeschooling our kids instead of sending them to school?

also, does anyone know of a church that umbrellas homeschool kids (keeps track of the homeschool kids grades)?

thanks!

If your kids have never attended PS then no you don't have to notify anyone of your intentions. If your child has attended PS you have to send a letter of intent to withdraw your child  but once you do that you never have to contact the PS again.

There is no need for an umbrella school because there is no requirement to keep records. There are some online programs that you can use to keep records for yourself if you really want to keep them but there is no law making you do it.
