Homelife Academy --How does this work?

Last year was our very first year homeschooling officially. We registered w/Homelife Academy. We had to submit the titles of the books/workbooks we would be using. (kindergarten) too easy.
However, this year (I haven't registered yet) I planned on doing a homemade curriculum. I have a list of instruction/teaching goals and objectives which I know I can do without purchasing curriculum. How am I supposed to submit books and such for a do-it-yourself curriculum??? Am I really supposed to list each and every source-- Library books, handmade manipulatives and math games, homemade crafts and science projects that I will be gathering from various craft/experiment books.
How do you do this??? I am so lost and confused and growing concerned with the time of year.

To clarify: my list of objectives is each subject broken down into subjects/concepts that we need to be sure they learn. When we were done with compound words, we went to suffixes & prefixes then to plural forms. It was the sequence of concepts on my list. It's not on a daily planner but more of a checklist. Just like maps: world continents & earth makeup, then zero down to small maps of neighborhood, community, etc. Science: plant/animal: needs, habitats, blah, blah.... It's all written down in a certain order in which we approach it.
When I get to a particular topic (even math) I gather library books on the subject, as well as kids magazines and online sources. How do I write that up to submit to Homelife Academy?

I am just winging it on this answer because I have never done Homelife Academy.

But I have insomnia and maybe I'll help?

What you're saying sounds a lot like our Written Student Learning Plans. It has a list of the curriculum we are using paired with the objectives that they are supposed to be learning.

Do you mean something like this:

Language Arts (Grade 8)

Primary
Michael Clay Thompson
Supplemental

Math (Grade 8)

Primary
Teaching Textbooks - Grade 8, Pre-Algebra
Supplemental

ALEKS Pre-Algebra (Supplemental)

Science (Grade 8)

Primary

Paradigm Accelerated Curriculum - Natural Science
Supplemental

Social Studies (Grade 8)

Primary
History Odyssey: Middle Ages Level 2
Supplemental

Fine and Performing Arts - Independent Study (Grade K-8)

Primary
Meet The Masters Bundle One: 35 week kit (ages 10-Adult)
Supplemental

World Language (Grade 8)

Primary
Rosetta Stone - Latin
Supplemental

USB Headset with Microphone

Physical Education and Health (Grade 8)Primary
Human Biology and Health
Supplemental

Mine just lists the curriculum. Soo, maybe list the books that you are planning on using, peruse the library and get an idea. The books that you are using for experiments. List Hands on Experiments as found in such and such book, magazine, online source?

we dont have to list any books we use here in oregon, but i teach kinda the way you do,

you could come up with a name for all the stuff you use and call it ________ curriculum? and list the subjects and maybe a few of the library books,

does it really matter to homelife acad?

This is our third year with Homelife, and I've always done what you're doing. Here's an example of how I list curriculum:
Family and Consumer Science-various topics to be taught include cooking, home budgeting, sewing, and proper home maintenance.
Art-private lessons, which include drawing, use of pastels, and sculpture

They basically want a description of the classes being taught, and a list of materials you plan to use. This is especially important in the high school years, so they can properly evaluate credits. They have a very helpful staff who are prompt at answering phone calls and emails. Hope this helps! :-)

Hello!

I would suggest you submit something like this:
1st Grade Science: Unit studies on Weather, Mammals, trees, circulary system. Motion and Earth's surface. We will be using a variety of library books, field trips, worksheets and computer games to teach each each unit.

Please contact our office at (888) 560-0774 and one of our counselors would be glad to further assist you.
