What type of shark week activities do you have planned?  I'm about to start searching for stuff and will post what I find.

Heres a fun activity - Print 2 sets of the shark critter cards and play the memory game with them.  Or print off the critter cards plus fun facts and make a book out of it.

This is the link to the site that provided the critter cards.  They have them in all sorts of different marine wildlife.

Today we are doing a study on Megalodon as that's the show on tonight. We are super excited!!

Tomorrow we are going to go over some of the top myths about Sharks and watch the Mythbusters shark show

Wednesday we are talking first aide and handling the kind of lacerations and contusions typical of shark attacks.

Thursday we are maping the Shark Highway & Feeding Grounds. A couple of great whites were spotted of the east coast, which is kinda rare. But we're planning on talking about the usually conditions sharks find typical.

Friday we are talking about avoiding the Great White diet, how to avoid becomming a sharks dinner..lol.. We are also mapping the anatomy of a great white, and the differences between a dolphin shark (I believe that what the smallest shark I nthe world is called), whale shark (largest shark) and some of the other common ones.

We are stoked!

We aren't doing shark week, but this summer we looked at a different type of shark a day, their diet, where they live, how common they are, etc. We also did diagrams of sharks, and watched some youtube videos.

The kids' most memorable sharks were the basking and the goblin.

you could also get some cardboar from boxes and draw some large sharks(ours were 2-4 ft), and then paint them with tempura and then cut them out and put on wall! we did a oceanography scene on our wall by making the stuff in the ocean and we had a few sharks!
