I would love to see what others have on their book lists this year! You can include the read-alouds too.

I wann get some new ideas, since you can never have too many good books to choose from : )

My younger son's 6th grade list from last school year:

Leonardo da Vinci

Beowolf (readaloud)

Michelangelo (readaloud)

Johann Gutenburg (graphic novel)

A Journey Through the Digestive System (graphic novel)

Here was my oldest son's 9th grade list from last year:

There are more on my list, as well as the early phonics readers  from ABeka Book that he will be reading.

 Yours are probably old enough to read it on their own!  My 2nd and k-er are both ging to listen to it (hopefully).  I'd like to revisit it wen they are older too.  I love that book!

My 7th grader's list for this year: All 7 books in the Narnia series, Shakespear Steeler (read aloud), Black Beauty and Tom Sawyer (read aloud)

My 10th grader is doing Learning Language Arts Through Lit. -American Lit. So he is doing an indepth poetry study from The Mentor Book of Major American Poets, reading some short stories by Hawthorne and Mark Twain, and reading the novels The Pearl, The Red Badge of Courage and The Three Musketeers. He will also listen to the read alouds Tom Sawyer and Shakespear Steeler.

My oldest read it in 4th or 5th grade. I have just overlooked it for my younger son for some reason, not sure why. I love the story and think there is much value in doing read alouds for ALL ages, so we may do it as a read aloud.
