how do you right your lesson plans?

Do you use software or a book or template, just curious to those that do lesson plans how you do them.

I write my lessons in a planner.

Right now, I'm using Excel, so that I can make adjustments as-needed.

I did 3 semesters of Early Childhood Education and had to write up a lesson plan for preschool-kindergarten so I just copy from that for preschool-Kindergarten.  It's by week.  I also did a thematic web/curriculum web for my unit study on Animals (for ages 6-8) and then wrote out detailed lesson plan information from the general ideas in the thematic web part.  Did the same with my bird and farming themes (at least did the topics I wanted to cover).  My preschool-kindergarten lesson plans cover (monday to friday):

  • Morning Group Activities
  • Afternoon Group Activities
  • Language & Literacy
  • Science & Discovery
  • Art
  • Music and Movement
  • Math
  • Blocks
  • Social studies
  • Outdoor/Large Motor
  • Tranisitions
  • Snacks
  • Books of the week
  • Special Activities & Notes

I just WRITE down what we want to accomplish in the week, then break it into days. For each day I just find activities that go along with what we are doing.

The program and books we use for my elementary grade kids have the lessons already planned out. Also, we have my highschooler enrolled in a high school program where that is already done for you.
