help finding homeschool curriculum?

I hope this is ok.

I'm homeschool 4 kids and I need to focus on their behavior, social skills and character this year.

I need to find a curriculum that focuses on just the basics so we don't get to far behind. I'm hoping to just have 1 book for each major subject - language arts, math, science & social studies. Hopefully not to expensive.

I originally wanted to do something online and had started to, but had to quick cause the kids wouldn't quit trying to play games the second my back was turned.

Also, if anyone has any suggestions on books that I can get for the kids to read on what we're focusing on, that'd be great.

Can anyone suggest anything and thanx for reading :-)

For Language Arts  Ring Around The Phonics.  (K through 6) (You can teach all three children at the same time using this curriculum disguised as a game) ...Levels I, II and III cost 55.95)

For Math :  Math U See (K through 12) It is not inexpensive though

Thank u so much !

This helped me so much ! I found everything I need really quick with these links. I'm getting ring around the phonics and I'm seriously considering getting the rod & staff books. I'm gonna keep looking at it, but it seems prefect for what I wanted.

Thanks again so much!

I would also suggest Rod n Staff to fit what you are looking for.

And it sounds like you may fit into a more Charlotte Mason style of homeschooling. Go to the library and check out some of the many books by her or about her style.

Queens Homeschool does a pretty good job of incorporating the CM method. Their Language Lessons books have picture studies, copywork and gentle introduction of grammar and writting skills. They also sell some character quality books/guides.

More places to look would be http://donnayoung.org/index.htm and http://www.amblesideonline.org/
