We are carving them. We painted one year and it didn't go over so well.. My kids are weird and don't like to get very messy, so paint everywhere was not a good thing lol

Both is extremely fun!   Sometimes we do both!   We buy the small pumpkins and use smaller paintbrushes.   Then, we buy bigger pumpkins and carve them.

This is always a tough decision! We usually paint because then the pumpkin stays non-rotted through Thanksgiving.

We always carve them but I have thought that painting them would be fun sometime too!

We have carved in the past but this year we are going to try melting crayons on one.
