1 mom liked this

We're almost done with our oldest. He's got 1wk left in his English book, and 2months left in his math.

Our school year starts August 1st, so we get done even sooner in the spring.  We had a great pace going before Christmas, since, we're struggling to get everyone back in the school mood.

My 6th grader only has two chapters left in math.

The testing process is still new to me. As my ds is just turning six, he won't be tested this year. BUT do they really test first graders? What's the best way to prepare for that?

I hadn't even considered testing yet.  As long as they are moving forward and at their pace I didn't think we really needed to worry about it.

I'm not concerned with it. I've never liked those test anyway.

We don't do any testing here - it's not required. Thank goodness! :)

We don't do the testing, just a portfolio, and we've been working on putting that together all year long. We started our school year really late though so we're not going to be closed to finished until mid June and her portfolio techinically will not be complete, but she'll have already met the majority of her objectives she's "required" to learn way before we finish our year.
