What are you up to today?

Ugh, I don't know why I do this to myself twice a year, but today I'm burying myself in my room in order to prep all the supplies for our first day of co-op on Tuesday. I'm teaching 3 classes so that means I have 3 days to make - 

13 3-ring binder Anatomy lapbooks

13 foam board 12 x 9 inch rectangular boxes 

And figure out how I'm going to transport all of them plus my 2 microscope cases, 13 stethoscopes and 4 dozen eggs - the 3 block from my house to coop....eek!

There should be a study done....what does the typical HS family weekend look like. I bet the top responses would be: organizing, planning, cleaning & baking....lol

I'm not sure how to post the video with my tablet, but on YouTube there's a video by primitive mommy on how to use a cake of soap to make liquid handsoap. All you need to do is grate a cake of soap...about a 5 oz cake does well. Pour a gallon of soft water into a stainless or enamel pot and get it hot enough to melt the soap. Stir until all the soap is desolved. Put on the lid, take it off the heat and let set at room temp for about 12 hours. It'll be very thick. I used an eggbeater to break it up a bit and stored it in an old milk jug! Very easy and saves so much money if you usually buy the little hand pump packages. I've seen it done with homemade soap cakes but primitive mommy uses Dr Bronner castle cakes. I imagine it would work with any cakes of soap.

I also made some liquid hand soap from a cake of Dr. Bronners. It needs to sit till tomorrow morning.

Next I'm going to plan out the meals for the week, clean the kitchen, and make apple pie!
