*UPDATE* I'm so nervous! Cole's eye specialist appointment is tomorrow morning.
I don't know why I'm so nervous. I am fairly sure he will need glasses and an eye patch. I hope he doesn't need surgery. It seems to be done only for cosmetic reasons, which he doesn't need since his eye doesn't move which is why we didn't know there was a problem. OY! I think I'm hoping that they are just going to tell me that the regular eye doctor was wrong and Cole is fine. LOL
Update: Well, he needs glasses and an eye patch. Surgery wasn't off the table, either. *sigh* He is older than they like to see and told me he is right on the cusp of them being able to help. The fact that schools usually do I exams in 1st grade kind of hung in the air. Cole is only in second grade, though and just now 8 so I'm just going to ignore the quietly implied criticism. Maybe it was more in my head because I, myself, feel so guilty about it.
Best of luck to you! My DS has a congenital ptosis and has been followed by a pediatric opthamologist since birth. So far- it hasn't affected his vision at all and surgery would only be done for cosmetic reasons (which we leave up to him- since it's his body). I'm not sure what your little guy's problem is but please know you and he are in my prayers!
What is congenital ptosis? It sounds scary. I"m glad it hasn't hurt his vision at all. We'll get a better picture of what is wrong with Cole's eye tomorrow.

Hope it goes well! I sure hope Cole doesn't get stressed about the appt. My kiddos don't like new and unpredictable things like this. Good luck!
