What will you be up to in Science?

We are looking into the solar system. He learned on Friday that if we were able to drive to the sun it would take us about 160 years to get there. LOL We looked at pictures with the solar system to scale, so we saw just how tiny the earth is compared to the sun. Some basic knowledge stuff right now. Science isn't something he's interested in right now. I'm hoping we can find something he will really catch on to, someday.
I thought we would move on to Reptiles (we did Dinosaurs the past 2 weeks and the boys passed their tests on Friday) BUT the boys asked what came next. How did it go from the dinos and the comet to mammals? So we are continuing on from the end of the age of dinosaurs. We will watch Walking with Beasts and filling in some more areas on our classification chart (we've got reptiles, amphibians, and birds a bit hammered out, so we'll add more to the birds section and talk about mammals too).
This week we are doing baking chemistry.

My 7 year old is learning about weather. My 6 year old is learning about animals.
Yes, my second oldest son just made a mini campfire oven using chemicals and a can. :)
That sounds like a very yummy project! :)
