What are your favorite summer activities or traditions??

I seriously have almost 2 feet of snow in my front yard, I'm trying to cope by thinking ahead to summer.  One of our favorite things to do is sit on the front porch and eat ice cream together after dinner.  It's nothing fancy, but we enjoy it.  We also like the park, fireworks, and grilling out.

What are your favorite summer activities?

Or do have some special plans for this upcoming summer?

We go hang out with my parents a lot during the summer. They live in the mountains about 45 minutes away and have open wilderness for the kids to run and play in as well as a really nice community pool that we play in :)

Every year we go to the summer reading program at our library. Last year I started a new tradition of making a summer bucket list.

Making ice cream, having picnics on the front porch, catching fireflies, swimming, and just enjoying the weather.

We started a list similar to that last year as well. :)
Already started on the one for this year. Can't wait.

In early spring I like to sit on the front porch and read chapter books to the kids, while the kids draw on the porch with sidewalk chalk.
When it gets really hot we break out the bathing suits, water hose and hop on the trampoline. ;)
Catching fireflies is always a big deal at our house as well.
Hot dog and marshmallow roasts!

Oh man! Now I am wanting summer even more than before. Lol
I took the kids to pick out some Spring/Summer clothes today. We are so ready for nice weather!

I would love to catch fireflies with my kids but we don't have any in our area.  I think it's because we live in town and there are too many lights.  It's sad though, I grew up in the same neighborhood I live in now and we always had them in our backyard as a kid.

I have an on going one on pinterest. I love it. When we start to feel bored or something I go look for something to do.

We love tenting!  We have a good flat spot in our orchard with a good fireplace!
